From sacred ceilings to sculptural silhouettes. From the Architecture section of the 2022 Competition, Mocárabe was inspired by the incredible muqarnas vaulting found in Iranian mosques. Designer Jayati Saraf bonded metallic fhataka and faux suede, fusing and shaping them into a three-dimensional form.
