Our community is mourning the death of 12 year old Shukri Yahya Abdi. Her family escaped civil war in Somalia seeking a better life. They are calling for answers after Shukri was found drowned in the River Irwell Friday 28 June. The family feel the police are not cooperating with them. She was, by all accounts, appallingly bullied at her school with family fearing for her safety. Too many of our young Muslim children are going through bullying ordeals related to race and faith.
