Two groups in Ohio, one of 25 people in Columbus and one of 29 coworkers in Independence, won a total of $1,052,504 in the Powerball lottery, with the Columbus group winning $50,004 and the Independence group winning $1 million.

The Ohio resident rediscovered the ticket during the last week of the year

No Powerball jackpot winner on Jan. 24; 14,338 Ohio winners claimed smaller prizes. The jackpot has reached $30 million for the drawing on Jan. 26. A North Carolina player won a $209.3 million jackpot earlier that week.

The Friday, Jan. 23 Mega Millions jackpot is $266 million and Saturday’s Classic Lotto jackpot is $3 million. Thursday’s winning Ohio Lottery numbers are: Pick 3 winners receive $500 for a $1 straight bet and the odds of winning are 1-in-1,000. Pick 4 winners receive $5,000 for a $1 straight bet and the odds of winning are 1-in-10,000.

The jackpot now resets to its starting point of $20 million for the next drawing on Saturday.
