What to Know A foot or more of snow could blanket the NYC area this weekend, as much of the U.S. is bracing for a massive winter storm. Parts of the region, like Poughkeepsie, could see 18+ inches. It appears the storm will arrive Sunday morning and will lead to hours of snowfall.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for most of the state from 7 a.m. Sunday through 7 a.m. Monday. Forecasters expect 2 inches to 6 inches of snow accumulation across the state, with eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island potentially seeing up to 7 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
