Looking ahead to the start of 2026, a gradual warming trend is expected. Highs will rebound into the 60s, with overnight lows returning to the 40s and 50s. This warmup will also bring a chance for a few rain showers and possibly some rumbles of thunder later in the week.
We are giving you the FIRST ALERT to a few snow flurries this evening into the day on Thursday. We wrapped up 2025 here in Eastern Kentucky with a mixture of sun and clouds with highs in the upper 30s and low 40s.
Winds should decrease late tonight allowing temperatures to drop back into the low to mid 20s by Wednesday morning.
After a cool and unsettled weekend, temperatures will rebound nicely. By early next week, highs climb back into the 50s and even the chance of the low 60s - an early taste of spring to start the first full week of the new year.
