The 2026 NBA playoffs will begin on April 18. The 2025-26 regular season wraps up on April 12, giving teams a short break before the postseason tips off. The Play-In Tournament, introduced in 2021 to keep more teams competitive and reduce tanking, determines the final two playoff spots in each conference.
NBA teams have completed 13 weeks of the 2025-2026 season. The season’s biggest surprise is the Detroit Pistons. Detroit leads the Eastern Conference and owns the league’s 2nd–best record, with the best record owned by the Oklahoma City Thunder.
NBA coaches will select the 14 reserves — seven per conference — for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game to be played Feb. 15 in Los Angeles.
