Singer Chitra Iyer’s sister Sharada Iyer tragically died in a trekking accident in Oman, weeks after the family lost their father.

Malayalam playback singer Chitra Iyer is grieving the tragic loss of her sister Sharada Iyer, who died during a trekking expedition in Oman’s Jebel Shams region, leaving the family devastated.

Indian expat Sharada Iyer passed away in a "freak accident" while on a trekking expedition at the Wadi Ghul, known as the Grand Canyon of Arabia, in Oman's Jebel Shams, her sister Chitra Iyer said.
