Several Bellingham businesses will be closed Friday, Jan. 30 as part of a nationwide shutdown to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In the wake of the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, shot by federal agents in Minneapolis, Minnesota, protesters created a nationwide day of “no school, no work and no shopping.”
People gathered again at the federal building in downtown Bellingham around the time a vigil was held at the WWU campus for ICE victims.
