The most significant winter storm in years will sweep through Maryland this weekend. The heaviest snowfall is expected on Sunday.
The Baltimore metro area is bracing for a snowstorm that could be its biggest since the blizzard of 2016 with forecasters warning that heavy snow, ice, and bitter cold could grip the region beginning late Saturday and linger into next week.
Meteorologist Stevie Daniels says the higher snowfall amounts will be farther northwest of the Chesapeake Bay. Areas southeast of the metro will likely deal with more freezing rain and sleet.
