Alabama football’s defense is looking at a fair amount of change for the 2026 season, especially up front. UA lost key players across the defensive line and linebacker spots, so Kane Wommack will be working with a new lineup in his third year as the Crimson Tide’s DC.

Alabama added some much-needed beef to its interior offensive line, as former Texas guard Nick Brooks committed to the Crimson Tide on Friday night, according to a report from On3.  Brooks started three games at left guard over five appearances for the Longhorns during his debut season last year.

No one expected Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Isaiah Horton to enter the transfer portal after just one year in Tuscaloosa. However, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported on X that the redshirt junior is expected to enter the transfer portal before his fifth year.

The future of Alabama is bright. Even before setting foot in Tuscaloosa, the Tide’s 2027 QB commit is lighting it up in high school.

Alabama football envisions Malique Franklin lining up as an interior defensive lineman after signing him as a three-star edge defender. Franklin was announced at 6-foot-6 and 252 pounds when he signed with the Crimson Tide in December.
